"The average ticket price, according to Variety a few months ago, had risen to $6.28. There are 7100 prints for it, showing an average of 3.17x per day. That works out like this (I'm going to assume 300 seats per screen):

Number of people per day per screen: 300*3.17 = 951
Those 951 people pay an average of $6.28/ticket: $5,972.28
Multiply this out for every print available (7100): $42,403,188/day.
Multiply that out for a three day weekend, and you get the theoretical maximum: $127,209,564

If they sold one out of every two tickets for every show, including the midnight shows, the 4am shows in NYC, the shows out in Cody, Wyoming, and all the Sunday shows, you end up with it hitting almost exactly what the last one did for the weekend, $62m.
"

hmmm I'm thinking between 75 and 85 million 3 day.

Yeah, not sure though... 14 million more than the last one is about right, I guess. 116 million is a lot, though. Probably hit anywhere between 110 and 118 million. Olympic has it 107.5... i guess they're giving their money away. wsex has a sharp number - i might pass on this one.

yeah I don';t know that's a high number. It of course would be the biggest 5 day weekend of all time I believe.... But if any movie can break Phantom Menace's record its this one. Its a very long movie but it also has a crazy number of prints, so maybe the running time won't matter. I might pass as well, I think the Chiefs is a better play than the over here.

So LOTR mad 34 million yesterday, which is 8 million more than last year, right? But this time it had Midnight showings that collected about 8 million. If I am correct, then this movie shouldn't go over 120 million, or am I f--ck up.

it's still pretty much up in the air, I'm not sure, haven't looked into it since I didn't bet.

Well Gil, we missed out on one of the easiest plays of the year, and the Chiefs lost. I'm taking a break from gambling for a while, I've lost focus dawg.

Yeah, me too. I'm not touching another bet until the New Year. LOL

Actually, I'm betting the UNDER on Peter Pan regardless of what the line is.

Oh, and I won my Mona Lisa Smile bet this weekend... just goes to show you I am getting better. (but no one points out that shit, do they!!!!)

MERRY XMAS!!
